Register
The Legal Services Board maintains a register which is made available for public inspection, without charge, at the Board's office.

The register provides details of current local legal practitioners, current locally registered foreign lawyers, and law practices that engage in legal practice in Victoria.

As required by section 6.2.23 of the Legal Profession Act 2004, the information contained in the register includes the:

  • Date of Birth
  • Date of admission
  • Address for service
  • Name of the law practice where the legal practitioner is employed
  • Conditions imposed on a practising certificate
  • Name of each partner of a law practice
  • Business name under which a law practice carries on business

Limited information from the register is available on this website, and can be searched using the search resource below.

When searching for a practitioner, you must enter the correct first name and surname of a practitioner or foreign lawyer. A partial name search is not available.

When searching for a law practice, you must enter either the full or partial name of the law practice or its business name.

If the information in this register extract is insufficient, the register can be searched at the Board's office, located at level 10, 330 Collins Street, Melbourne, between 9am and 5pm on weekdays. If you have any questions about the register, please contact the Board on 03 9679 8000.
